Susan boyle, looked like nothing, but she had amazing vocal talents. She was a nobody till she went on usa got talent. i watched that many years ago when it happened. lol i dont have talent like that. i just make utube tunes. The songs ive made i listen to but are not radio worthy. on the playlist on my phone for the car.
Roy D Mercer audio was around from the start of AOL. you could play sound files with a command. thats alot of years ago. THen when utube came about, we got all his videos. its fun. not politically correct but fun. I think the first one i heard was āyou might be a redneckā thats a lot of years ago
DJI did an update a couple days ago. 13th in the USA i believe.
I believe they have taken away the geofence, for the USA.
I just updated and put mine on the roof of the car and im still locked out.
But update yours and see if it unlocks you.
You are mistaken, Roy D. Mercer never did āYou might be a Redneckā¦ā It was Jeff Foxworthyā¦
That would be like me thinking that Paul Hogan played āWolverineā or Hugh Jackman played Crocodile Dundee⦠L L . . .
Yes, I did the Geo Map Updating. They also released a new version that needed updating first, and then you needed to update the Geo Maps⦠When I updated the maps first, it did not work since I had to update the version firstā¦
I do not have an old screen shot of my area, but here is a comparison of the screens from Philadelphia Pennsylvania, USA. As you can see, the new version is much cleaner and now DJI does not restrict you from flying in many more areas⦠But there are locations that still need to be released, but not as many⦠Now, in many cases, you will get a pop-up asking to accept full responsibility for any transgressions⦠Go ahead, Transgrateā¦
Enjoy it. im in the wrong hemisphere.
It FAA changing it, not CASA.
I went out to the port today as it looked like nice fly weather. at the end of it i was trying to get some ship berthing video and a gust of wind got the drone. Home point vanished off the screen and nothing looked familiar. lifted it up and dropped it down to see if i could see it. 15 minutes later i spot that its 180 degrees from where it started out. put it in the car and left. got home, and realized that the blue landing mat was not in the car basically a 60 mile round trip to go back and get it. $20 mat.
told mum im taking her back there on saturday. see if i t still there. might have to make a new one.
Are you in to old ships ? i got a round the boat video, with the staffs permission this time lol and a few other bits n pieces. ill go put it all together and post up here when im done
That was Mick dundee, in crocadile dundee lol
ok so i went to the city of adelaide again today. footage in 20 knott winds, not so great. added in the footage from last time⦠not so great. But the sound track, im kinda happy with.
Thinking it might even be Thunder approved kind of music hahahaha
Iāve got several questionsā¦
What does this meanā¦
You wrote asking if I did the Fly Safe Update⦠I did do the update and I am under impression that the Fly Safe changes affected everyone, everywhere, even those of you āin the wrong hemisphereā¦ā L o L . . .
Several years ago, I remember a Scotsman who was flying his DJI drone from an island (in Scotland) that had an airport on it. He took off before he had good GPS and he flew out over the water. But then he got good GPS and the controller reported āHome Point is Setā (over the water). But the worse of it was his drone was outside the restricted area when it got the GPS signal and now that the drone āknewā where it was, the guy could not fly his drone back to land as the Geo Zone mapping would not let him cross it and fly back to land. He described how he flew back and forth and it was like the drone was bumping into an invisible wall and ultimately, the battery ran down and performed a force RTH and landed in the waterā¦
So I went to the DJI Fly Safe map and looked at the location that he was referring to and sure enough, he took off from inside the Restricted Zone⦠If he had waited until he had Good GPS, he would have gotten a message on the screen telling him that Take Off was not permitted and the motors would not start. I have tired this myself, brought my drone well into the air force bases restricted zone and tried to take off and the message came up and the motors would not startā¦
By the way, I am a Yank, but a First Generation⦠My mother was a Scot, born in Edinburgh, Scotland. My father was Russian, born in 1910, when Russia was still under the Czar and they left during the revolution in 1917-18ā¦
The maps of Philadelphia that I included was to show you how the restrictions here in the US changed and the zones are much easier to fly in without getting a DJI Geo Zone Release⦠I know the difference between the FAA and CASA (CASA translates to āhouseā¦ā in Italianā¦)
Wow, that must have been some wind⦠Be sure to test your drone out over land, near home, not over the orchard, to ensure that nothing has gone wrong and you do not want to drove 60-miles to fly your drone, recover your mat, and have your drone drop out of the air and into the waterā¦
Is this old enough for you?
Finally, I know that Paul Hogan and Hugh Jackman are both Australian and Iāve read that the Aussies did not like the way Paul Hogan portrayed Australiansā¦
I know very well Hogan did the Crock Dundee bit and Hugh Jackman played Wolverine in the X-Men franchise. And I had to search Google for just the right photo of Wolverine that looked like Dundee did with his big knifeā¦
The joke was because I thought you thought that Jeff Foxworthy did the Roy D. Mercer commercialsā¦
Brent Douglas and Phil Stone, both Disc Jockeys on radio station KMOD-FM in Tulsa, Oklahoma did the Roy D. Mercer bit. Jeff Foxworthy, a comedian, does the āYou must be a Redneckā¦ā bitā¦
I hate to ask what you think of āLarry the Cable Guyā¦ā
As a follow up I will attach some photos of āboatsā from my areaā¦" Remember, I live just 20-miles away from the largest Navy Base in the world and that includes both hemispheresā¦
Laterā¦
Is it being restored to be refloated and used for harbor tours?
Morning. wrong hemisphere. we all got the update, but only FAA maps have changed.
At the end of the day it is probly a good thing. im sure id fly where im not suposed to and have casa on my doorstep lol.
Curious as to the Yank part lol. I didnt think you called yourselves that, only the Aussie lol
im kind of a first gen. Dad was here for at least a couple generations, so an Aussie. Mum was an import during the war. came out as a kid from Latvia. She got the war instead, but was fleeing Russians i guess.
It was pretty windy and it was going fine. just 1 big gust took it for a ride. So lucky the dock workers didnt notice or didnt care. Hard to think they didnt see it as i got to the voice saying landing. so i lifted it up again. At the end of the day its only a $20 mat. not hard to replace.
The old ships are pretty cool. we dont have thinks like that. just the resto boat. Speaking of such it is restore and stay on dry dock for tours.
your correct it was Jeff Foxworthy. brain fade sorry.
I seen Larry the cable guy and jeff foxworthy and another guy who i dont remember on stage, on a video. Showing vids and pictures the wives had sent in. ive seen some of his stuff. Good ol boy red neck types always seem to have good humor behind them.
Ive been meaning to ask you. When you were in the airforce, was it as a pilot, or ground crew, maintenance, or something that you cant talk about? I know a bit about the latter with family, so its a valid answer.
new vid. Are we going to get in trouble if we just general chat in here been it is a help forum, or they dont care ?
I forgot to post the new mutton cover video, that i did right b4 i lost my mat
I use the āYankā reference when I am referring to myself to a non-American⦠If I was writing to a fellow American, I would have written I am a āVirginianā (from the state of Virginia), but the folks here do not refer to me as a Virginian, because they think of me as āCome-hereā (someone who is not from here but āCame Hereā¦ā and then the worse part is that they say I am a āStay-hereā because I Came Here and then I Stayed Here⦠L L . . .
And they often say "Youāre not half bad for a Dam Yankee (a Yankee is someone from one of the states that fought with the Union during the Civil War (1860-1864). I was born and raised in New York State, not to be confused with New York City⦠And anyone who is from a state that fought with the Confederacy is referred to as a āTrue Blue Southernerā¦ā L L . . .
What is funny here is that the reference to Blue is misplaced as anyone who fought with the Union, wore a Blue Uniform and they were called āBlue Belliesā¦ā The ones who fought with the Confederacy wore a Gray Uniform and they were called Rebelāsā¦
Personally, I do not like Larry the Cable Guy, I do not think much of his āhumorā is funny and itās mostly crude⦠I know thatās the character he plays but itās not my styleā¦
You wrote youāve been meaning to ask about my Air Force service and if I can talk about it⦠First off, I will give you the Sarcastic, stick it up your ass commentā¦
āSure I can tell you, but if I do, Iāll have to kill youā¦ā
I really hate to hear this type of ā ā ā ā ⦠There is absolutely no truth to it⦠If I am doing something like that, then I had better not tell you or I could be convicted of espionage, and I could be shotā¦
But in most cases most military folk can talk about their job, but in many cases they just cannot be specificā¦
But in my case, I have had numerous jobs over my 30-year career. I started out as a Jet Engine Mechanic and I worked on the T-33 Shooting Star, the F-100 Super Sabre, the F-4 Phantom, and the F-15 Eagleā¦
I then transferred into Combat Arms and taught Small Arms Marksmanship with the M1911 pistol (semi-automatic pistol .45 ACP), the Smith & Wesson .38 Revolver, the Springfield M14 rifle, the Colt M-16 Assault Rifle, the M79 40-MM Grenade Launcher, and the M-60 Machine Gun and they were just for funā¦
Then I became a Gunsmith rebuilding and repairing all of these weaponsā¦
But then I started losing my hearing from Gunfire and I was accumulation lead in my blood system from shooting and testing the weapons indoors.
I then became a computer programmer and I worked on lots of computers all shapes and sizes, Mini, Micro, and Main Frames and much of what I programmed falls under the rules, "Donāt talk about it⦠or where you did itā¦
But I have already told you that Iāve been stationed in 17-different locations, in 9-different countries, on 6-different continents.
A funny story about when I was in Korea⦠This I can tell you⦠One of my Korean workersā daughter was being married and he invited me to the wedding. He handed me one of the invitations (all written in Koreanā¦), but he explained everything, but an Air Force Sergeant friend of mine was a Korean linguist and I asked her to read the invitation to me⦠She stared at the invitation and said she could not read it and I said if you canāt read it, what to hell does a linguist do, she looked at me and said, I workā¦
I found out later that linguist are not taught how to read, only to listen and translate what they have heardā¦
So, the vast part of my military career was in computers and as the old saying goes, āAsk me no questions and Iāll tell you no liesā¦ā
I just noticed that youāve posted another video, Iām going to watch it nowā¦
Laterā¦
all good. some jobs really are cant talk about it though lol as i say i have extended family in that category.
I was jut wondering if you were a pilot in the Airforce that generated your love of flight. i wasnt meaning to be nosey lol
if it ever gets done processing there is another video coming as well. the ship coming in under tugs
Curious thing. when the drone went rouge yesterday it wasnt recording which it should have been. also the video was all bury from the shot before it. flew fine for all the city of adelaide stuff. curious. its had no falls or impacts. weird
Now for some hard truth, I did not care for the video, you flew too quickly and it did not give the viewer time to enjoy the scenery⦠I used setup and slowed the video down to 50%, but then it jump and the show at about 15 fps and thatās not goodā¦
When doing a circle, if the video is too quick due to the drone flying too small a circle, you might want to fly a larger circle and use the zoom on the lensā¦
As to your question about our chatting, I am actually surprised that we have not been notified about the purpose of this forum and to take our chatting to a Private Message, which I have done a couple of times.
To start a Private message, you Left Click my Avatar and Click on Message and then only we can see itā¦
But our chatting is not all the bad, we have been having real conversations about Drones and as you might notice, this forum is not all that busy and perhaps we have been given a bit of an free hand in the hopes that others might join in and participate as @Finn_Gange did with the information about Capcut.
As a matter of fact, I have been messing with Capcut and reviewing the YouTube Tutorials on CapCutā¦
And at time moment, Iāve been uploading some the OpenShot videos and editing them further in Capcut⦠I really like all the free music included. One of the cheating things Iāve been doing is copying music from DJIās Lightcut. I like it, but I do not like working on my tablet. But they include lots of good music, so I upload a sacrificial video and attach a few musical selections to it and then download the file to Open Shot and then delete the video and save musicā¦
Well, itās well into tomorrow and I better hit the hayā¦
Laterā¦
Mutton cove video ? yeah the vid ended up been a little quick. was slow to begin with, so i sped it up lol
all part of the journey.
i prefer open chat so that others can feed off of what we chat about and learn as i am doing.
I just asked because i dont know the politics of the forum.
Im sure if mods get sick of text moving they will say something. they seem fairly chilled.
The video that is uploading at the moment is the videos and stuff from the phone. pretty random, but still from that trip. but its all at the right speed lol
Interesting video, That Bulk Carrier Ship in yur Vid, here are itās specsā¦
yeah i get the details on the marine app
theres alot more details on there but you get the idea
yeh pretty much the same. mines via mobile. im guessing your was via pc. 2300 time for pillow. taking mum for a drive tomorrow to see if the drone mat is still sitting there or if i have to make a new one
was down the port again today. did a 360° for facebook of the boats sailing around the course, then a guy starts walking up on me as im starting to pack up. Yes i had that sinking feeling. Turned out ok. he asked if id go back up and get some of them sailing lol. so i went back up on half a battery. Got some practice with pan. very slow pan.
Not a bad place to be when the mercury hits 100
