Will height change cause a crash

Before I got into drones (3-years ago) I used a Video editor that was in Windows 10. I was very easy to use and it had all the tools that I needed at the time… Here is one of the videos I made back then when I was still making Knives… but they stopped supporting it because it was a separate program and not an App and replaced it with something else

I now use a Free Video Editor called OpenShot Video Editor. It is open source so anyone with programming skills can add features to it. Here is the Web Site for it… Only click on the button that Says, “Download v3.30” not the free trial, it’s something else and not OpenShot… YouTube also has a bunch of Video Lessons on how to use OpenShot…

I originally found it by searching YouTube for reviews of the various Free Editors and here is one that impressed me. This was my search in YouTube (“free video editing software”)

This one was published a few years ago and after try out most of the ones he recommended, I settled on OpenShot. It is one of the least powerful, but it does all I need. Additionally, he has a bunch of teaching videos on Open Shot and I went through all of them to get proficient…

However, here is a more recent video that he has put out and it is his Top-3 and they do sound pretty good…

I might even try one of these… I do absolutely believe that “DaVinci Resolve” is the best Free Video Editor… (there is also a Commercial Version, even more powerful… but Mortal Man would not need all of these features…).

On the other sites I am on, many of the members use DaVinci Resolve, but it is way too complicated for me and the small buttons are difficult to distinguish on my 24" computer screen. And since I am not into commercial work, I am happy with what I have and can use…

Cool lights for that Night flying, but remember, DO NOT look into those lights. Once you do, you will lose your night vision for 30-minutes or more and may not be able to see your drone (it’s lights are too dim…).

I had my first cataract surgery 3-years ago and it did not go well, I was left with 20-40 vision in that eye… I changed ophthalmologist and finally had the other eye done a year ago and it came out better, but not as good as you Mum’s, the other eye is 20/30, but I get a bit of a gray shadow.

The problem is that my brain uses both eye’s images and combine them and I wind up with something like 20/35 or so. I squint a lot with my right eye closed to get the best image and I look like the cartoon character “Popeye”…

They are threatening that we may get 3" of snow Sunday night and if they do, I will be out getting more footage with the drone…

My wife looked at my snow storm video and actually found two kids in their back yard, which I missed, but I was amazed and not one vehicle was see in that entire scan of the neighborhood.

Until later…

Morning. yeah i got open shot. its not too bad but i cant get titles to work and a few other things.
Doesn’t support audio separation either.
I want to find the old windows video maker, which is what you were referring to. that was gold. did everything you could need, in a simple fashion. loved it.
DaVinci is out of my league, i dont understand how it works lol
Went back out this morning. the spotlight under the drone works well. you wouldnt read under it, but for emergency lighting, for fixing a motorbike or filling a generators diesel tank, it would be plenty. Could even set up a tent or similar under the light. The side lights were good but need modification. they were on plastic spikes. it occurs to me that when i go all the earth is very solid. so i need to mount them somehow so they are a foot high and tilted to drop light to the mat. also need a cover. if the solar panel see’s light then the lights turn off. so in the video the lights flashing. teething problems.
Took a vid of the almond patch. went for a drive down the sides of it. took a heap of photos as well. Another hyperlapse as well. im going to start editing. might get a video up b4 you head to sleep lol
Snow vid was good. starwars intro was good to lol

Yes, Titles requires a bit of finesse to get it the way you want and Choosing the font and size is a pain to establish, but after that it’ OK.

And Yes you can snip and edit audio, that is what I did to Dinah’s song, I snipped off the prelude and I cut the last part of the song off, it was too long, and at the end, she does not sing “let it Snow” three times, only twice, so I edited the part from the middle of the song out when she does sing it three times and inserted it at the end.

As for the wind sounds at the end of the video, the really good wind sounds were on a web site that wanted me to join, but you could play it. I used the Windows Voice Recorder to record the audio comping out of the speakers to copy the sound without joining. If I had joined and then downloaded it the fidelity might have been better, I’ll have to check that later with real music…

To edit Audio, here is how it works, insert your audio. Play the audio until you find the spot you want to save, and stop the play back. The Time Line with the RED Dot on Top, Right click it, and choose Slice All, then you have the option to just cut it, or cut it and keep both side (As I did in this sample), or keep only the Left Side or Keep the Right side…

If the small section I left in the center (the part I want), on the first cut, I would have selected Keep Right Side, then when I made the second cut, I would have selected Keep Right Side and then only thtat small secion would have been saved.

The Titles are a bit of a pain but assuming you know what you want, but positioning is the question, you have to move the Blue Frame…

In this sample, I used the simple, Center Line Option for the text, but as you can see, it is right in the middle of the photo…

To move it, Click on the “Title Box” (as indicated by the Arrow with “Title Slide” in it…) in the Time Line and the Blue Frame is what you can now manipulate, move it up, down, left, or right, by placing your mouse in the Blue Frame, click on it, and moving the Words to where you want them…

Place your curser in the Blue Frame and the curser turn into a four-side Arrow, indicating you can reposition it. In this sample, I clicked on the Blue Frame and slide the title down so the house is clear and then I clicked it it again and slide it up…

Now the tricky part, see those little boxes on the corners and sides. Click and drag them and you can really skew the title up… Stretch it, shrink it, tilt it, etc…

Animated Titles are a whole different animal and you need to take the tutorial…

Now that’s it for my classes, If you want more, you need to take the YouTube Tutorials…

Later…

Really neat video, Your landing light on the drone is giving those solar powered lamps the wrong idea…

If you do not want the lights to start flashing and having a fit, put a piece of electrical tape over the Light Sensor. The landing lights make the lamps think it’s daylight and tries to turn them off…

Are you using the CapCut Pro Version on a mobile device (phone or tablet) or on your PC. I have a bit of a vision problem and I do not use the editing Apps on my devices and use my PC (24" screen), but I have reviewed a couple of the Tutorials on CapCut and I may try that one too even though the PC version is less powerful than the App.

yeah as soon as it happened i knew what it was. ill stick a piece of bag over it. the whole solar panel is the sensor. it gets a voltage across the circuit and it assumes the sun is up. so a little plastic bag will sort it. if i use electrical tape then there will be crud all over the solar panels and that work properly.
As for the editing, im trying different things. i can put an audio track to a movie but not take the audio off a movie and replace it with another track and then lip sync it. Titles im working on. Thanks for your tips ill see how i get on. Just been out the farm. long few hours in the heat flying the drone. I did cheat though. i was distance flying. i stayed in the car in the shade and sent the drone right across to the other side of a paddock like 1/2 a mile away lol

If you load a video and it has a sound track, click on the track, right click it, click Volume, and then click Level 0%…

Then just add you own sound track to it…

Remember my Snowstorm video I just made. Here is is with buddy Holly. I did not replace the music, I turned off the original Doris Dav and added Buddy…

Easy Peasey… Now I’m going to bed!

2-30am the wife will be yelling at you lol.
Ok i have 2 videos and both have sound, i want to take the audio off of one and put it to the other.
i understand where your going with just mute the sound, but you still have 2 videos running. thats why i need the detach feature. its all good ill just stick to doing it without getting fancy.
i cant do the animated titles in open shot. keeps hanging with a message. ill screen shot it for you

So i put blender on there and make the file path right. still no bueno lol.
ok time i wasnt here. got a lot of almond videos and pix to geth through from my phone

I am using CapCut pro on my PC (actually on a 24" screen). The PC version is definitely not less powerful that the App, and you will find a lot of good instruction videos on YouTube giving a lot of good ideas. I like this program because it is simple to understand and gives good results. You will surely find more advanced software, but with an interface that requires more.

I have seen a lot of comments from people using Davincy Resolve, but have not yet tried it (and it looks a bit more intricate).
