Waypoint Settings Question for Mini 5

Title:

Waypoint gimbal pitch not transitioning between waypoints (stays stuck from previous angle)

Post:

I’m running into an issue with waypoint missions where the gimbal pitch is not behaving the way I expect between waypoints.

Here’s what I’m doing:

Waypoint 1: Gimbal set to about -80° (looking straight down)

Waypoint 2: Gimbal set to about -10° (near horizon)

Waypoint 3+: Continue mission with different angles as needed

Each waypoint clearly shows the correct saved gimbal pitch in the editor.

The problem:

When the drone leaves Waypoint 1, the gimbal stays at -80° while traveling to Waypoint 2, instead of gradually transitioning to -10°.

So during travel between points, I’m just looking straight down at treetops instead of forward toward the next waypoint.

What I’ve tried:

Adding buffer waypoints between 1 and 2

Pausing and hovering at buffer points (5–10 seconds)

Manually setting gimbal pitch at each waypoint

Confirming each waypoint has its own saved pitch

Even with buffers, the gimbal does not transition smoothly during flight—it only changes once it reaches the waypoint (or not at all).

What I’m trying to achieve:

I want the gimbal to:

Transition from -80° up to -10° during travel, not just at the waypoint

Or at least begin adjusting immediately after leaving a waypoint

Question:

Is this just a limitation of DJI waypoint logic (no interpolation between gimbal angles)?

Or is there a setting I’m missing that allows smooth gimbal pitch transitions between waypoints?
