Mike, thanks for continually updating Flight Reader. One suggestion that I have is to have the ability to display the number of flights on the main window and base it on the current filter.
Thanks,
Steve

This is something I would like to see also. Maybe include flight time/distance option as well?
Also would like to see the number of selected flights/rows down in the lower margin like many spreadsheets do. Some summary stats would be an even bigger bonus.
Something like Google Sheets might be nice – where you can select the calculation you’d like to see.
Anyone have any specific ideas? Feel free to explain more in detail or show example screenshots.
For me keeping total flight time, number of flights, distance flown would be the basic info. From that, being able to break it down to more specific information like by drone, by time frame (month, week, etc), averages (time, distance, altitude, etc.) would be helpful sometimes.
That kind of data can be retrieved from the aircraft reports here:
I believe @walkerdata is suggesting these totals (or stats) only reflect what’s currently displayed in the main window.
That’s exactly what I was thinking, Mike! Just for what is displayed or selected in the main window. I agree that for more complex queries the reports work well.
Thanks for considering this feature request!
Yes, just show the totals for the records in the list box. If you change a filter, update the totals. My main reason for wanting the totals is a quick way to verify that all logs have been imported or I haven’t forgotten to import some logs. (A last import date would be nice also but I don’t want to get greedy!)
Along with some other similar feedback I’ve received in emails, it sounds like this could really be broken out into the following features:
The count of displayed flights could be included in the “Flight Date” dropdown at the top of the main Flight Reader window. For example, if you have “Recent” selected, “Recent (20)” would be displayed if the main window contains 20 flights.
For totaling, averaging, etc. the displayed columns, something like I shared in the Google Sheets screenshots above could be added beneath columns displaying numeric data.
For having an easy way to see an overview of all flight data processed by Flight Reader, a customizable dashboard could be introduced to show things like total flights, total mileage, graphs/charts of important data, or anything else important to a specific Flight Reader user.
For what you originally requested @walkerdata, would #1 do what you need?
I think that would work. Looking forward to it!
I like it!
Thanks Mike! (If you don’t recall, I made a very similar request by email almost exactly a couple years ago… I’m glad there were others that hoped for the same features!)
