I updated my FlySafe database and took off - only to realise only after a few minutes in the air that I cannot ascent the drine anymore. It did not ascent when I triggered RTH and it did not ascent even when I put my hand below it while it was landing.
Then it said “Firmware incompatible” and it does not wanted to start the propellers…
I have never had this happen to me but I have to ask, what versions of firmware are you running? The latest version of the DJI Fly App is Ver 1.16.0.
Did you download all the software from The DJI Site?
You included a link to the DJI Forum Web Site, did you follow the instructions offered by DJI Natalia? What were the results?
Are you flying in a controlled Airspace, as near an airport, military base, prison, etc…?
Finally, before you launched you drone, did the app report, Home Point Updated?
If you launched the drone before it had acquired sufficient GPS location positioning and you are flying in a controlled area, that might explain the action by the drone.
I am pretty sure(nearly 100%) that the issue came After I updated the FlySafe…
Others also have mentioned that after updating this stuff the drone does not take off, for example.
I am using latest drone firmware and old DjI Fly app on Android because I simply do not like the new voice. Not such a big deal, but still… the old one is way cooler
I always wait the GPS to gain fix and update the home point before flight.
I still have not flown after the problem came, but I will keep you posted for results.
I definitely will be extra careful from now on.
Oh and I almost forgot:
(I have not mentioned this in the DJI forum, I do not think it’a a good idea…)
I am not “bragging” or something, but maybe I should just mention that I have a fake GEO zone license in the aircraft, allowing me to fly above 500 meters height and into NFZs, but I do not have any intention to fly above prisons, airports, military bases, but I admit that the high altitudes I like the most, although I use this “feature” rarely. I even have a 4th 4,100 mAh extra battery for that purpose.
By the way… can this flightreader thing help me to identify the main culprit ?
I cleared the app cache, but the flight logs are uploaded into my DJI account…
I can’t help you with Flight Reader, but I am sure that @msinger can… He will probably be logging on soon and he is the resident expert and has helped so many, many folks with FlightReader.
There have been various fixes for this issue that have worked successfully for many years. Here’s a lengthy thread on the DJI forum where users have shared their solutions:
If you weren't using a new battery for the first time, then I think the most likely culprit is the DJI Fly app caching bad data locally. Since the exact cause is unknown, it's hard to say whether it will happen again.
As for using Flight Reader, it’s likely not going to be helpful for this specific issue since it falls outside of data that’s recorded in the TXT flight log. However, it would be useful for reviewing flight telemetry data.
I can’t speak for any technical issues because I’m not familiar with the Mini-2.
However, both the altitudes shown in the image you provided are illegal in the U.S. Max altitude is 400 feet, not 400 METERS. My old Phantom-3 is set to 30 meters maximum altitude.
The altitude you show of 390 meters converts to 1,280 feet, far higher than altitudes we use in police helicopters for normal patrol, and also medical transport helicopters travelling between hospitals.
Setting the RTH to only 30-meters (100-feet) would have the drone hitting almost every tree in my area. Set it higher than all obstructions (trees, buildings, power poles, cell phone towers, etc…) you never know from which direction that an uncontrolled RTH might be generated and you might not notice that the cell phone tower is between you and your drone…
