Can you run two identical drones off one Fly App. Not at the same time, but as a backup for when one is being repaired. And if so can you name the drones differently so that data per drone is correct?

Yes, you can use as many drones as you’d like with the same DJI Fly app installation. The drone name is stored on the drone itself at the time it’s configured.

The only thing is you need to relink each drone any time you change from another drone, it remembers only 1 pair AC+RC. As soon as you link the drone to another RC the link to the first Rc is also lost.
