Hello, I have a DJI Mini 4 pro drone with a DJI RC2 remote control. My problem is that when I record videos, data such as FrameCNT, DiffTime, date, time, iso, shutter, fnum, exposure, focal_len, latitude, longitude, etc. are also recorded. As can be seen from the image. How can I prevent this data from being recorded?
DJI drones typically embed metadata in their video files, and some of this information is also written to associated files like .srt files if the “Video Subtitles” setting is enabled. The information you mentioned (FrameCNT, DiffTime, date, time, iso, shutter, fnum, exposure, focal_len, latitude, longitude) can often be found within this metadata or related files.
While you cannot entirely prevent the drone from recording internal data related to the flight and video capture, you can take steps to prevent this information from being readily available or displayed in the final video files:
-
Disable Video Subtitles:
This is a key step to prevent certain information, including latitude, longitude, ISO, shutter speed, etc., from being saved in a separate .srt file alongside your video.
Look for the “Video Subtitles” setting within the DJI app (e.g., DJI Fly, DJI GO 4) and disable it. -
Local Data Mode (LDM):
Enabling Local Data Mode in the DJI app effectively disables internet communication, preventing flight data, including location information, from being transmitted to DJI’s servers.
While this primarily addresses data transmission, it might also have an effect on how metadata is handled and where it’s stored. -
Removing Metadata Post-Recording:
After recording, you can use dedicated software or online tools to remove or edit metadata embedded within the video file itself.
Be aware that some information might be deeply embedded and harder to remove entirely.
I hope this helps. But now that you know what can be done, it’s entirely up to you to do it…
Thank you!
Hi AnchevAB,
the quick solution is just to delete (or rename) the .srt file. Thoses infos will not show up anymore.
Other solution : Im pretty sure I saw an option in DJI Fly. I will search for it, test it and tell you back
