I seem to be forced to use the motion control in order to fpv. Will I still have the ability to use waypoints, spotlit,etc. with the motion controller?

The goggles are the limiting factor here – not the motion controller. You’ll need to use DJI Fly on a mobile device (or the RC 2 without the goggles) to access those more advanced features.
