Reviving my Phantom 3 professional, not used in 10 years. 2 Drone batteries where gone, and 2 still ok and charge.
The controller battery is dead, so got a new one on the way to replace the dead battery.
Turned on P3 without controller and all seems ok.
Just waiting on the new battery for controller.
Downloaded the Go app, and does not crash on my S23 ultra, so just hope all is fine. Cannot buy officially batteries, so may need aftermarket ones, and not buying anymore unless I know my P3P will be ok

WoW, Welcome back into the fold… 10-years ia a long tome gone and much has changed just in the last few years… Depending one your location (specifically your country) various laws have taken effect and you need to be aware of them so you do not get in trouble with the law… Most locations require some type of certification (registering and licensing) just to fly a drone. Your drone is a large one (over 250-grams or .5 pounds…) and most locations require that those drones be registered with the authorities, and most locations also require Remote Identification (RID) transmissions from the drone, and that just names a few of the things you may need to do…
Give us a location and we might be able to advise you batter…
Good Luck with that battery and bringing that bird back to life…
New Zealand, our laws are not as bad as some countries, and don’t need an RID and can still fly it as a recreation drone, but need permission to fly over peoples properties, parks, etc, but can get park permission easy enough and not far from me is uncontrolled airspace, and the park I used to fly in still common for these with RC aircraft. As far as tech goes, not much has really changed, sure some sensors to avoid obstacles, and gotten smaller, but the phantom is bigger so better handling in wind. Has still all the mod cons of all the other drones, like way points, follow me etc. So dont see a lot more advancements.
Anyway how can they police it? So many here do fly illegally and even illegally fly FPV flying, maybe in the US or larger countries its harder, but here so many illegally flying. The only way you could get caught here is if your irresponsible and say fly over someone’s house and piss them off, etc I think if you are responsible then its fine. As you cannot buy genuine batteries anymore will have to buy aftermarket ones, but need to know mine runs first before handing over more money. Been looking at Amazon and looking at reviews, etc. As its under 25kg don’t need a license as they have part 101 and part 102, which is the license, part 101 is recreational flying, can fly within 4km of an airport or controlled space, but shielded space, so can fly as high as the highest example tree or building. And in uncontrolled airspace can lodge your flight with air share, to alert others of your flight, by filling in a form, but not strictly needed, as when you fill in a form with airshare gets sent to the relevant authorities so looked inot it here, and these came info force when I was still flying back then 10 years ago, and no issues. Our laws are not where as strict as the USA
You seem to have it in handle, but just in case, here is the reference to flying your drone in NZ…
But I will say that all those who fly their drones illegally, make it that much harder for us legal folk to fly.
You might try looking closer to home to see if someone has a similar drone to see what of yours works… If you have a Facebook presence, here is the link to the “DJI and FPV Drones New Zealand Operators’ Group”
Good Luck!
I am a responsible Drone flyer, and the rules are fine for my P3, and can use it without issues, as its under 25kg, can fly without a licence and 10kg upwards needs inspecting for air worthiness, so fine here. Was flying with all the changes back then and here nothing has changed since I last flew my P3 10 years ago, and council are good at giving permission to fly in parks. We can fly in controlled airspace under shielded, rules or flying at the highest example tree, building, air higher need permission so can use airshare here and they take care of getting you the authorisation here, and as long as your clear on what you want have not issues in controlled airspace. but the park I fly is lucky as its uncontrolled airspace, but still always on the lookout for aircraft and helicopters and ready to come down if needed, etc. But all the drones now have screens and encourging illegal flying, as they all are illegally flying as its claimed by the rules have to have a spotter and cannot be viewing a screen, or FPV without a spotter. So drone companies are in fact making it easy for people to break rules. Even DJI as their drones can fly way out of sight and people are flying them by viewing onscreen. A bit like when cassettes had double decks. Illegal to copy music, yet made it easy with a double tape deck or being able to burn music and videos on DVD/CD, had made illeagal operations easy.
I’m new to drones, learning on p4k. The drone had laid idles for over 3 years only 1 battery survived. I bought 3 new batteries, which took a while (10 22 flights to sort out, i suspect firmware issues. But now they work well, 20+ mins a pop. 3-4 delivery, full email contact with Chinese supplier. It went with through Aamazon.
