Motors shutting off

Motors start then shut off after 2 seconds every time. Someone solved this with a firmware update.
Not a fan of updates but i have no ideas and
tried a few. No update would load. Does that mean i have the latest ? Whats the motor issue ? im not getting any error messages. i did get some weird impossible battery errors. Fixed that by adjusting the battery plug which was a tad cockeyed. Compass, and imu calibrated. Thanks in advance.

If this motor shutdown issue were a common firmware-related problem, DJI would have acknowledged it in their firmware release notes and likely recommended everyone update immediately. Since that hasn’t happened, it seems unlikely that firmware is the root cause in your case.

The battery connectors, both on the battery and the drone, should sit flush and secure. If your plug was misaligned, that could indicate some kind of physical damage or stress to the drone. Was there an incident or repair that might have caused this? Some context might help narrow things down.

I don’t think these calibrations are going to help. It sounds like you’re facing some kind of power-related issue. If the same problem happens with multiple batteries, it’s probably not the batteries themselves. Instead, it might be the battery connection point on the drone or a deeper internal hardware issue that’s causing a false power loss.

Also, based on your previous thread, it sounds like you may have made some hardware modifications to your drone. If so, those changes could potentially lead to unexpected behavior like this.

Updating firmware on the Phantom 3 can be a bit tricky. If you haven’t done so already, check out the instructions I shared here.

Thank you for the very informative response.
Yes, it had been crashed. Wouldnt link to RC.
Replacing the sensor board fixed that. 5 different batteries, same result. I see no damage to the battery tray or power plug. Ill resolder the power mains and study the battery data connection and wiring.
