I purchased a Mini 4 Pro at least 2 years ago, never used it until now. I wanted to practise with my other < $200 drone first. Yesterday I finally unboxed my Mini 4 Pro, updated the firmware of the RC 2 controller, which when fine. Today I attempted to update the firmware of the drone via the RC 2 controller and failed. Both drone and controller batteries were fully charged at the beginning, but the process went only to 58%, I think, before the batteries were depleted and I got the message that firmware update failed. Do I need to connect both devices through a USB-C cable, or does the update work OTA somehow? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! BTW, while attempting to update, the yellow lights on the drone are flashing. Doesn’t seem right, does it?
Never mind! I dusted off my old Win7 laptop and updated the firmware using DJI Assistant software. Worked like a charm. Problem solved.
@CogSci yes hardwired updates via Assistant are almost always safer.
