Mini 2 OcuSync disapointment

Hey guys. I was wondering if any of you have the same issues I’m getting. Or should I say frustration with the supposedly much better distance I was supposed to get with mini 2 OcuSync compared to my mini 1.

I used to be able to get about 2km from me with the mini 1 so I bought the mini 2 to go further (wishing for 4km). But turn out I only get about 2.5 km with the mini 2 before I lose the signal. So I kinda feel like I was had by the 10 KM range they advertised!

Does anyone know why I’m losing the signal at such a small distance?
Is there a setting I should look for?
The further I go from the home point, the higher I go to try and keep a better line of sight from the remote to the drone!

(Before anybody brings up the ‘should not fly too far’, I don’t fly over people or crowds but usually over rivers and lakes and feilds…)

Are you still flying over rivers and lakes now? In those locations, there shouldn’t be anything around to interfere with the signal – other than what’s on your person.

Yes mostly, but these rivers/Lakes are close to towns. Here in my region there are also quite a few heigh tening lines and cell towers. Not to mention that, close to lakes, there are usually a bit of air traffic. Could those be interfering?

What happens when you don’t fly near those things?

2 weekends ago, I was in deep country.
The same place I was last September with my mini 1. I can honestly say that even with the new mini 2, I did not see much of a difference in distance I could get from me and the drone… the image is better (better reception). Could I have a Bad version of the remote that is for other countries where law doesn’t permit the 10km?
