Total newbie so please go easy.
I bought a Mavic pro and serial number is marked as 08QDE1E012024X but when I enter to raise a ticket on DJI it keeps telling me not recognised.
Anyway, I calibrated the gyro and IMU and all was well, first flight on Sunday when well.
Went to fly yesterday and the gimbal camera keep shaking in flight.
Recalibrated and still the same.
I watched various videos regarding the seating correctly of the gimbal. Mines all correctly fitted under the little lip.
Any ideas what it could be?
Thanks
Mark
I have some questions for you:
1) Did you purchase a used Mavic Pro? If so, any idea if it was functioning properly before you received it?
2) When the drone is powered on and you’re holding it in your hand, does the gimbal appear to stabilize itself when moving the drone around in different directions? The gimbal should point the camera forward and remain level.
3) Can you share a sample video so we can see what the video looks like? You can upload a video to YouTube.com and share the link here.
Thanks for getting back to me much appreciated.
I bought it from a friend who upgraded and it was working correctly. I thought I would try a cheap option to see how I got on before spending more.
This is a video of what it’s doing even when in the air.
Thanks
Mark
Anything notable happen between now and when it was last working correctly? Or any backstory we should know about?
No not at all, it seemed to fly ok a couple of days back, no crashes or damage just being very careful as totally new to it.
Calibration seemed to work correctly for gyro and IMU so just not sure what it could be.
I checked and the gimbal is seated correctly it’s under the little tab.
All cabling seems correct so I’m at a loss.
Tried again this morning, the gimbal kept defaulting down see first video below:
Then I moved it by hand, power cycled and it seemed to be ok.
I the did a 20min flight and it worked perfectly. Once I landed it and walked into the house it started shaking again. Should I be powering down the drone before moving? I landed it to my hand and then walked in. Should I power off as soon as I catch it?
Thanks
Mark
Minor shaking can occur if the gimbal isn’t properly seated in all the areas shown in this video. However, your issue appears to be more consistent with a damaged gimbal ribbon cable.
That wouldn’t cause any damage. The drone moves during flight, and the gimbal is built to stabilize itself whenever the drone is powered on. That said, you should avoid holding the drone in a position it wouldn’t normally be in during flight, as that could cause the gimbal to reach its pitch/roll/yaw limit.

I will give it a few more flights and see how it goes.
Do you happen to know if it’s possible to still get parts? Any idea if there is a place that gives a breakdown of parts? If not any idea on part number for the ribbon cable.
Thanks for all the help much appreciated.

You can purchase a cable here on Amazon. There are other variants on the Amazon UK site and eBay. You likely won’t find any OEM DJI cables, so purchase one that has good reviews.
This is what the replacement process looks like:

Brilliant, many thanks.
Flew again this morning, it was playing up, so landed and moved the camera and gimbal about then flew again and it was perfect.
So think I will replace it for peace of mind.
Thanks
