iPad communications to Controller Issues

Well, I have just retired after 47 years with the same company & though I would bring my Phantom 4
out of storage. It has not been flown in a few years. I’m unable to get my iPad to communicate with my controller. Possible I need to remove the app from iPad and download a newer version?
Any suggestions would be greatly apricated.

What did you try? What happened instead? It would be helpful if you’d include as much detail as possible.

If all worked when you last stored it, then you shouldn’t have to change anything. Installing the latest version of DJI GO 4 wouldn’t hurt anything though.

I was able to remove the app from my iPad & reinstall the app and now I can communicate with the controller but unable to sync controller with the drone. Red light on controller and a tried a reset on the drone.

That indicates the remote controller is disconnected from the aircraft as shown here in the Phantom 4 manual:

Did you try linking the remote controller to the aircraft like this? And if that didn’t work, what happened instead?
