Anyone been able to get a google earth kmz file into their rc2 controller. Have tried all ways on google regarding replacing a dummy file but have had no joy.
I am guessing that the RC2 Controller does not have the firmware to support the KMZ file format…
The actual images (e.g., JPG, PNG) taken in the field are stored, and geotagged to specific locations, allowing them to appear in pop-ups when a point is clicked.
The “doc.kml” File is the primary XML text file that references the packed images, defining where and how they should be displayed on the map.
The firmware provides for the images to be organized into folders within the archive so that the doc.kml file can find and display them correctly, enabling the file to be opened on the controller (IF that is even possible…)
If you do figure it out, please post the instructions.
According to this apparantly you can ““Yes, the DJI RC 2 controller supports KMZ files for waypoint missions through the DJI Fly app, although it does not have a direct, built-in “import” button in the user interface.
KMZ files (specifically DJI’s WPML format) can be loaded onto the RC 2 by manually transferring them via a computer and overwriting a “dummy” mission file.”” but I have tried to do this many times without success.
I cannot offer anything else. Try Googling this straight search and in “AI Mode” use different search terms. Also try searching YouTube for instructional videos..
Good Luck!
