Front vision camera after gimbal repair

Hi everyone,

When I was repairing te wiring loom for the gimbal I noticed that as you look at he front of the drone the front left camera ribbon had been cut. This was like this as I had just taken the top cover off and before the in depth further stripping to replace the gimbal ribbon this was noticed.

So I ordered a replacement off Amazon.

So carried on swapped the gimbal ribbon and all back together, did a test flight inside and gimbal is good now. It flew without problems and the gimbal remained stable so that fault sorted happy days.

Today I replaced the front vision camera and quite straight forward. All back together and tried to fly. It’s not allowing me to take off says gps not working and gyro and front vision need calibrated.

I have tried to do both, gyro calibration says it passes but still shows as needing calibrated.

The front vision just keeps failing. This is the one you do holding the drone in front of you and do a square, do this for ages keeping moving it then it says failed. No feedback nothing, so I don’t know, is the new cameras working or not your just left to keep moving in a square.

So is there a way to test that the front vision is actually working as I could have a duff replacement.

Odd that the drone was able to fly with the old front vision cameras considering one ribbon to left camera was completely cut,

Any ideas on why gps isn’t working can’t see anywhere to check.

I tried to download DJI assistant 2 but it’s not seeing the mavic pro.

Any help would be great, im thinking I will swap back in the original front vision cameras and see if it works again.

I’m sure it was one like this I bought off Amazon but can’t login to account.

I am sorry but I cannot help with this but one point that seems strange and I wanted to clear it up. Did you mean that you bought this drone, used condition, from Amazon and it is still bound to the original owners DJI Account?

It was the front vision camera assembly that I bought as it’s ribbon was damaged when I opened up the drone to replace the gimbal ribbon which has been done. I think I’ll put the original back on and see if it works even tough it’s only one camera.

Managed to get it sorted, so took it apart tonight to refit the old front cameras and noticed that the rear connector under the cover I had missed.

Refitted and tested and gps was working. Was able to fly and calibrate gyro. Front vision still wouldn’t calibrate.

So watched a few you tubes but couldn’t get DJI Assistant to run. Made sure had correct version but when plugged into pc it simply wouldn’t see the drone. After lots of messing around I tried an older W7 laptop I use for car diagnostics and it worked.

Managed to calibrate the drone including the front vision and it all seems to be ok.

Won’t know properly until morning and fly it. However no more errors on the DJI Go.

All looking ok…
