Found DJI 249g 4 pro

I found a DJI 249g mini 4 pro under water while snorkeling at Horseshoe Bay in Bermuda. I am not sure how long it was underwater but it looks like its in good condition. I tried to recover the SD card but could not get anything off of it. What kind of charger does this take so I can see if it powers up. Thanks.

I doubt that it is any good now. It was on when it hit the water and Salt water is the death of electronics… Your standard phone charger with a USB-C will plug into to charge the battery.

It may look good but it’s only the plastic case that is looking good so it probably was not in the water all that long.

If you plan on trying to charge the battery, rinse it out very, very well with clean, clear drinking water and then it needs to dry out, really dry out… any remaining moisture in it will surely short out if it is any good any more… Most folks who have had to dry out their phone, camera, or drone, bury it under 5-pounds of rise for a week or more…

But the biggest worry is the battery, if it is now bad from the salt water exposure, it could catch fire and not the type of fire that is easy to put out… Do not leave it unattended when charging or on a flammable surface (like a desk or counter top…)

Finally, even it if does fire up, you would need a controller for the drone and since all DJI Drones are bound to a specific user’s Email account, it would only have about a 100-foot range….

I would advise you to just sell it on ebay as a found wet drone and someone will want it for the good plastic parts to repair damages drones…

DJI will not tell you who the owner is even if they are provided the serial number. And DJI offers fly-away insurance in case you drop your drone in the ocean… L :grimacing: L . . . If the original owner had this insurance, then it has probably already been replaced.

Enjoy your Bermuda time!
