Drone serial number not reporting properly

I recently flew my P3S with Litchi on iOS and when I imported the flight log into Flight reader the serial number was all a series of zero’s resulting in Flight Reader interpreting it as a different drone. When I import the logs after I have flown with my Android tablet this does not happen. Is there any way to correct this or is this always going to happen when I use my iPhone?

Thanks,

Chris

Flight Reader should import the serial number from the processed log file. If it’s not all zeros in the log file (or you’re not sure), please email a sample flight log to me at [email protected] so I can take a look.

BTW, when I was poking around in Litchi the other day, I found it stores actual TXT flight logs on Android devices here:

Android\data\com.aryuthere.visionplus\files\DJI\com.aryuthere.visionplus\FlightRecord

I’m not sure if it’s also stored on Apple devices.

I found the flight log on my iPhone and imported it into Flight Reader which resulted in two identical entries, except the new entry (log) did not have my flight details that I had added. When I went to delete the duplicate entry, it deleted both entries instead of the one that had no log details.

Chris

While I haven’t attempted this yet, it sounds like you might have imported the Litchi CSV and TXT for the same flight.

If you’re able to reproduce that issue, I can take a look if you zip the Flight Reader log folder and send it to me.

I installed the latest Flight Reader update and re-processed the flight log that is reporting the P3S serial as all zero’s and there were no changes. Any suggestions so that I do not have two aircraft when there should be one.

Thanks,

Chris

I haven’t made any changes to correct that issue in the new release since I was not able to reproduce it.

Did you send those flight logs to me for further review? I did not receive them if so.

I did send the log. I’ll resend it.

Chris

I sent it again via email since I can’t attach it here.

Chris

I did not receive your email.

I think I know what the problem is. I am responding to your emails to me but it’s the [email protected] email. The actual email address doesn’t appear in my email client, I had to call it up.

Also, I didn’t realize until now that I can upload a file on this forum, however the zipped Flight Reader log folder is too large to upload. It’s 552.5MB.

I can share it with you on my Google Drive if that helps. Just to be clear I am sending the Flight log folder from Flight Reader and not the actual flight log.

Chris

I only need these files:

You’ll see that “Export” option after selecting both flights and right clicking.

You can email them to me at [email protected].

If that doesn’t export the original flight log files, you can send all of the files in these folders instead:

Got it!

The serial number is empty in that flight log. Here’s what I see:

If you upload a mix of flight logs from that aircraft where some flight logs contain a serial number and others don’t, Flight Reader will associate those flight logs with separate aircraft. Flight Reader groups flight logs by aircraft serial number.

Thanks for analyzing that log.

I usually fly with my Android tablet and haven’t had a problem with flight logs. This particular flight was with my iPhone. I guess every time I fly with the iPhone I’ll get blank serial numbers.

Chris

Have you reached out to Litchi support for help? Their application is recording the blank serial numbers.

I have in the past reached out but didn’t have any luck. It was for a similar issue - a battery serial number.

I’ll try again, but because the P3S isn’t supported anymore it’s unlikely I will get someone who can help.

Chris

Sounds good. I’m not able to do anything on my end as Flight Reader is accurately reporting the data it’s importing.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to help. Much appreciated!

Chris
