DatCon project status and open-source alternatives

Hello everyone,

I’ve recently started looking into DatCon
(GitHub - BudWalkerJava/DatCon and DatCon Downloads).

The GitHub repository hasn’t been updated for about 8 years, while the latest released version of the software appears to be around 3 years old. The author also seems to have abandoned the repository (no activity and no responses to issues).

Does anyone have more information about the current status of this project?
Is the source code of the latest version available somewhere?
And are there any open-source alternatives to DatCon that you would recommend?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

You’re right. I’ve moved on to other projects and haven’t thought much about DatCon/CsvView for a couple of years now. Another user expressed interest in a newer version of the source. Preparing the latest source for posting to GitHub would be a significant effort.

DatCon’s relevance is on the decline. For a couple of years now DJI platforms create encrypted .DATs making DatCon useless for these platforms. If this changes, and I’m still around, I would consider providing the current source.

Thank you
