I had the unfortunate experience of flying in Sport mode for the first time, and I didn’t realize how fast it was (compared to Normal and Cinematic mode) and I ran it into the exterior limbs of a tree when bringing it home to land. Looks like the damage is minor and limited to the blades and the exterior case of the body itself. I tested it again and it still flies fine, but one arm scrapes a bit when trying to fold it up again.
I performed a couple of Google searches, looking for some new parts and I ran across wildly different results including one page on aliexpress.us, with a whole kit of parts for $1.31!! And then typical ebay results with just one half of the case (top piece) for $46!!
What is the best way to acquire some new parts? Or, are people just 3D printing these themselves?
Gee, wouldn’t it be a nice gesture to tell the members what make and model of drone you are looking for parts for and where you are located… (as in what State/Province, and Country).
I’m assuming by the title you’ve got a mini 3? I bought an unbound complete drone, for spares (Note you won’t be able to fly it, only for parts) It’s perhaps a lot of money to spend as insurance.
You wrote that the mini 3 you bought was unbound (in a sporting term “a Free Agent…”)…
You can pair and fly a second DJI Mini 3 with the same controller, but the controller can only be linked to one drone at a time.
How it Works…
Switching Drones: You can easily alternate between both Mini 3s using the same remote. However, whenever you switch from one drone to the other, you will need to re-link/re-bind the controller to the “new” drone.
Re-binding Process: This process only takes about 30 seconds. You will need to turn on the drone, put it into pairing mode (hold the power button for about 4 seconds until it beeps), and tap the “Pairing” or “Connect to Aircraft” option in your DJI Fly app.
Things to Keep in Mind…
DJI Care Refresh (In case you are outside the US and still have Care Refresh…): Your binding status affects your warranty and drone tracking for things like Flyaway Coverage. Because the controller can only be linked to one drone at a time for Care Refresh purposes, you will have to re-bind when swapping drones so that DJI’s system knows exactly which drone is in the air.
Flight Limits: When you bind a controller to a different drone, you might get a warning message limiting you to 5 unbound flights if you don’t officially bind it to your account on the spot. It is always recommended to formally link the new drone to your DJI account in the Device Management settings menu while you are connected to the internet.
I was responding the the OP when I posted mini3, mine is a pro4 mini.
I’m sure you are talking about any similar drone!
I’ve tried the re-binding process, but it wouldn’t bind. Did you notice the change of rules by dji? Since last year you can’t bind a bound drone, unless you have it unbound by the previous owner.
