4/3 CMOS Hasselblad camera wavelengths

Hello everyone,

I am currently working with the DJI Mavic 3 Pro for remote sensing applications, and I would really appreciate some help. For my research, it’s important to know the central wavelengths (or spectral response) of the Red, Green, and Blue bands of the built-in 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad camera.

I’ve searched through the manuals and online resources but haven’t been able to find detailed information about the exact spectral ranges. Does anyone happen to know these values, or could point me towards a reliable source?

Thanks a lot in advance!

The exact spectral response curves for the standard 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad camera (L2D-20c) are proprietary and not publicly available. However, its color capture can be inferred from its design and the specific hardware of the DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral drone, which uses a specialized version of the same sensor.

While the standard Hasselblad RGB camera is tuned for natural, human-eye-like color, the multispectral version reveals the sensor’s underlying sensitivity.

Estimated spectral response

Based on the publicly known specifications for the DJI Mavic 3M, which features both a standard RGB and a multispectral camera with the same base sensor technology, the multispectral camera’s filter bands offer a good estimate of the underlying CMOS sensitivity.

The bands for the multispectral camera are:

:camera_flash: Green: 550 nm ± 16 nm
:camera_flash: Red: 650 nm ± 16 nm
:camera_flash: Red Edge: 730 nm ± 16 nm
:camera_flash: Near-Infrared (NIR): 860 nm ± 26 nm

From this, the approximate central wavelengths for the built-in 4/3 CMOS sensor’s standard color filters are:

:camera_flash: Red: ~650 nm
:camera_flash: Green: ~550 nm
:camera_flash: Blue: The blue band is not specified for the multispectral version, but general digital imaging standards place the peak sensitivity around 450 nm, with a typical range of 450–490 nm.

After this, you’ll have to ask Hasselblad by visiting your regional support information by visiting the Hasselblad website.
